Nikki and Jeremy share a vision of bringing people together by crafting exceptional ciders that celebrate Virginia’s beauty and bounty. It is at the heart of everything they do.
In the spring of 2021, Ciders From Mars opened its doors to the community of Staunton, VA. The multipurpose venue offers a combination cider production and lab space, an open and comfortable taproom and lounge, and outdoor deck seating, which ultimately creates a communal center around cider, art, and music.
MEETING OF THE MINDS
Ciders From Mars was born out of a passion for science, nature, music, and art. After years of volunteering at a friend’s cidery and experimenting with carboys on countertops, Virginia natives Nikki West and Jeremy Wimpey embarked on their own cider adventure. The stars aligned during the total solar eclipse of 2017, inspiring them to establish Ciders From Mars.
Nikki is at home in the cider production space and lab, leveraging her background as a geochemist to test and implement new techniques in her cidermaking. She combines science with creative inspiration drawn from her decades as a musician to craft a unique and delicious lineup of ciders.
Jeremy has been instrumental in scaling up operations and establishing a small cider orchard in western Augusta County, VA. He contributes his energy and skills to Ciders from Mars while continuing to operate his trail design and management company, Applied Trails Research.

OUR CREW
Ciders from Mars boasts a team of highly experienced bartenders with over 50 years of combined expertise in the industry. They have forged their craft in high volume bars, restaurants, and cocktail lounges all over the country. At Ciders from Mars, they have developed a deep passion for cider, which has opened up a whole new world of creative inspiration for them.
Our bartenders are committed to expanding their knowledge of the cider industry, learning about the different varieties of Virginia apples, the intricacies of the fermentation process, and applying their creative expertise to developing second-to-none craft cider cocktails. Every day is a new adventure, where they bring their skills and passion for cider to provide you with a unique and memorable experience.
